The Dos and Donts of Mens Eyebrow Grooming

Men's Eyebrow Grooming Guide: What to Do and What Not to Do to Get the Perfect Shape

Men, like women, require brow grooming on a regular basis. Yes, you got by for the first 20 years or so of your life without having to touch your brows—but times change.

Men's brows demand more effort as they age to keep them neat and tidy. Whether you have bushy brows or scraggly brows, every man can benefit from maintaining their brows on a regular basis.

But there are three things men should know before reaching for the tweezers or trying the current eyebrow grooming fad:

1. Not all brow shaping techniques are suitable.

2. When it comes to sculpting their brows, many guys make the mistake of over-tweezing.

3. Every man's grooming routine should include brow grooming.

WHY SHOULD MEN CARE FOR THEIR EYEBROWS?

Let's go right to the point: bad brows can detract from your overall image. On a man, unruly brows on the verge of becoming a unibrow are never a nice appearance.

Thinning brows, which are common in older males, are on the same level. Apart from small lines and wrinkles around the eyes (which may be treated with a men's skin care kit), a man's brows are the best sign of his true age.

For most guys in their 20s and early 30s, maintaining their brows entails keeping them neat and tidy. Some young men will just require a few easy hair pluckings, while others will require more effort.

Men in their late 30s and beyond should be especially cautious while plucking their receding brow hairs. Fortunately, eyebrow shaping products exist that can make brows appear fuller without being unnatural.

Being proactive about your brow grooming regimen is vital whether you're attempting to land a date, land a promotion, or feel more confident. Although well-shaped brows may not guarantee a hot date or a new job, multiple studies have demonstrated that appearance does influence our performance (see claim: "...This effect is tempered by male physical attractiveness...").

Furthermore, well-shaped brows increase one's self-esteem. You may obtain flawlessly natural-looking brows with a few basic brow shaping suggestions that can increase your handsome appearance and confidence.

If you're afraid of professional eyebrow treatments or don't want to spend the money, you may shape your brows at home for a fraction of the price. However, choosing the DIY way has its drawbacks, like the possibility of messing up your brows and having to live with the repercussions.

The most important thing to remember is that whether you pluck, wax, or thread your eyebrows, you don't want to overdo it. It may be tempting to pluck every grey or stray hair you come across, but once you take a good look in the mirror, you will immediately regret it.

Do: Tweezing is the only way to go.

Other than tweezing, there are other ways to shape your brows, but that doesn't mean you should use them. For the majority of guys, a little tweezing is all that's required to achieve great brows.

Waxing kits for at-home use provide the advantage of eliminating extremely tiny hairs that are difficult to pluck. Waxing, on the other hand, can be a bit of a learning curve. Do you really want to risk losing half your brow in the process? No, we didn't believe so.

Don't: Go to aggressive

As previously said, tweezing too aggressively might result in sparse-looking brows that are even worse than before. Start slowly and don't shave too much.

Bear in mind that bushy brows aren't always a bad thing. Bushy brows are well-kept and natural-looking on George Clooney, Robert Pattinson, Dave Franco, and a slew of other good-looking male celebrities.

Do not: Trim from the top

It's time to shape the start and finish points a little more now that you've tweezed them up. Always tweeze extra hairs from the bottom of your brow to achieve this.

Why begin at the bottom? If you've ever seen a man with excessively arched eyebrows, it's most likely because they were tweezed from the top. The hairs on top of your brows are necessary to keep them looking full and youthful.

There are instances when the brows need to be trimmed because they have grown too long. To properly trim these hairs, brush them up with your fine-tooth comb and clip the hairs peeking through the comb using precision tip scissors.

Do: Make Use of the Appropriate Tools and Products

A pair of high-quality tweezers, precision tip scissors, a comb, and a mirror are all you need for a basic tweezing job. Other tools and styling products, on the other hand, may be beneficial to some men.

For example, we discussed a styling product that can help men control their unruly brows. A precise eyebrow trimmer is another useful instrument that makes it simple for men to eliminate unwanted face hair.

Precision eyebrow trimmers frequently contain two detachable heads: one for trimming bigger face hair and another for eliminating hair near the brow line safely. This tool is great to have in your grooming arsenal if you have facial hair that has to be trimmed as well.

Do: Leave a few greys in the mix

It's wise to leave a few greys in there, as tempting as it may be to pick them all. If you pluck too many grey hairs from your brows, they will appear sparse.

You probably have grey hairs on your head if you have grey hairs in your brows. In this situation, your brows must be identical to the colour of your hair.

Mr Red Fox Of London Final Words

Shaping and maintaining your brows should be a part of your grooming and skin care routine on a daily basis. Your brows may seem insignificant, but they may drastically alter the aspect of your face.

Just remember to take it slowly at first, and don't be hesitant to seek expert help if necessary. They can at the absolute least serve as a starting point for determining where you should tweeze in the future.
